News & Info
AuthorConnect was conceived, designed and created by successful writers who also have extensive experience as small press publishers, and who have strong knowledge of the fiction, poetry, non-fiction and technical book marketplaces. Two and one half years elapsed from initial conception to full functionality. This time was necessary to consider the range of needs of all types of writers, configure the design of the Web site to meet those needs, and build the Web site accordingly. The planning has not ended. AuthorConnect will introduce many new and unique features over the coming months and years that will further expand its value to users.
AuthorConnect was created to help all types of writers overcome the huge and growing gap between their works and the publishers, producers and agents willing to accept those works. AuthorConnect also helps writers, businesses, students and educators, the reading public, and others throughout the world to connect with a great variety of resources that would otherwise be difficult to access.
Writers and the businesses that comprise the publishing and producing industries should view AuthorConnect as a nexus linking every part to every other part, and as a friendly provider of convenient assistance toward accomplishing their goals. AuthorConnect offers valuable free exposure for its users and brings the entire writing world together for their mutual benefit.
At AuthorConnect we try to be tolerant and non-judgmental. We give as much leeway as possible to what constitutes creative work, understanding for example that while we do not accept pornographic work on the Web site, many text and graphic works may be erotic without being pornographic. We accept many radical political views, while not tolerating works that may incite violence or otherwise harm society. We rely on our users to notify us when material they deem inappropriate appears on AuthorConnect (see Contact Us).
AuthorConnect is neither owned by nor affiliated with any publisher, producer or agency.
